The BLUESBERRY Band

The rhythm & blues band consisting of 9 musicians called The BLUESBERRY Band was found back in 1996 in Veszprém (a small town nearby Lake Balaton).

After the first rehearsals it became clear that the members of the band choose the rhythm & blues with some soul and funky influence for their main music style.

The soundtracks of the movies Blues Brothers as well as the music of the 50s, 60’s and 70’s made also a big influence on the music of the band.

Thanks to the colourful and entertaining orchestration as well as the improvisations guarantees this musical direction enough motivation and enthusiasm for all members so that any time positive energy will be sent from the stage and the audience receives that always happily.

The BLUESBERRY Band had dozens of concerts and played on several festivals not only in Hungary but also abroad.

The band has already played together with well known Hungarian musicians as Tibor Tátrai, Tamás Mohai, Mátyás Pribojszki and György Ferenczi, Ferenc Muck, Miklós Varga, Adrienn Zsédenyi. Ferenc Muck, one of the best and most appreciated saxophone-players of Hungary decided after a successful cooperation that he will join the band!

Further evidence of the musical quality of The Bluesberry Band is that in the framework of VeszprémFest 2010 they played as opening act for the world-famous Earth, Wind & Fire whose members personally congratulated the band on the concert!
All of the members of the band are experienced musicians who have proved their qualities in several bands and musical styles already - from classical music to big band, acoustic music, jazz or even rock.

The organizers of the internationally famous Gronau Jazz Festival invited the band in 2012. Since their appearances aroused great enthusiasm by the audience, it was decided that the band will support Ian Scott Anderson, the famous singer and flute player of the legendary band Jethro Tull on the 25th Anniversary celebration of the festival in May 2013. This will be the top concert of the festival!

Thanks to a lot of work and practice as well as the unbroken enthusiasm, this band is one of the best rhythm & blues bands in Hungary. Its audience consists of all age groups from the teenagers to the retired.

It is a long time since the band has been founded. Its actual setup includes the best musicians who have ever played in the band:

The BLUESBERRY Band
